Quote: Highlights among the long list of improvements and additions include: • A complete rework of the 1954-73 Liberty definitive series listings. • Dozens of new revenue listings in the Danish West Indies and the U.S. Virgin Islands. • New cancellation listings, starting with Scott number 12. • More than 7,800 value changes. • The addition of a large number of new postage errors. • Expanded listings for uncut press sheets. • Updated and revised census of registry labels.
I have the 2013 Scott Specialized and a 2011 USPS Guide so I think I'm good to go for another couple years. Especially since I cut my U.S. off at the year 2000.
Amos Advantage usually offers free shipping in December for catalog. I found the 2014 catalog very helpful - and the 2015 seems to promise the same, especially on the Liberty definitive series as well as other major & minor Scott numbers.
I've got to ask... If one purchases a Scott Catalogue on line for the $74.99 does that continue as the viewed version (from cloud-server what ever) or will it be updated in subsequent years (it is a data base I assume used for the print edition) or will one need to again purchase the updated version for another $75????
I doubt it will be updated after one year. I would assume it would be updated during the Oct 2014- Sept 2015 year but not afterwards based upon their past habits. The question one should seek is will the updates for those years following the 2015 year will discounted for those who have purchased the base year? Also, will you have access to files after the 2015 year?
I watched the video. They have updated the values of footnoted imperfs. If you're going to track the value of a stamp and list it in your catalog, give it damn number already. If you're not going to assign a number to a stamp, and just plan to footnote it, it should just say that the variety is known to exist and end there. By not giving these stamps numbers, you're making the catalog less valuable. I believe SG and MICHEL have both assigned catalog numbers to these stamps.
