Yes, I've read both sides of the debate about what makes an appropriate topic for a US postage stamp. I see the cultural vs pop culture arguments and the culture vs money arguments.

But this morning my inner child won.

I ordered Batman stamps and covers. It has nothing to do with Israel, Haiti, dead countries, scouts, or Coast Guard postal history and everything to do with my very favorite superhero as a little boy.

I will be picking up a pane or 2 of the stamps and plastering my mail with them over the next month or so. Love them.

It is tragic that they left Robin off the stamp. It is like celebrating Cagney and Lacey without Lacey.

The USPS probably had enough licensing issues with just Batman!
