I have come across many used US stamps of the self-adhesive variety. After reading about the soaking problems associated with this type of stamp, I have followed the common sense approach of clipping them as close as practical.Whatre the opinions on trading these used sa stamps "on piece"?

In regards to soaking, were they issued before 2006? Most stamps still soaked with a few exceptions for tearing or flaking. I myself would not have a problem with a closely trimmed stamp, especially if I knew it was a nonsoaker. I do foresee more contemporary issues being kept on piece, which is a good thing for postal history collectors and exhibiting.

I do managed to get them all off with no damage though it takes some work. I use a combination of methods but very hot water works well in a pinch but then again water is the last thing to consider on others. Yeah go figure.

I have started to just save some as covers too.
