Do cruise ships accept letters for mailing? Specificallyc does Princess Cruises have this kind of service for passengers and if yes, do they require USA stamps? Thank you

I took a Carnival cruise through the Caribbean several years ago and had my covers all stamped - for various countries - and ready to go (assuming I would post on board and they would be mailed when ship docked). It didn't work that way. I was told all letters are held until the ship gets back to Miami. So "mailed at sea" appears difficult to get via a cruise ship in my experience. If I did it again I think I would buy cruise ship post cards and mail them from ports visited.

I did a Carnival cruise (Caribbean) a couple of months ago and a Princess (Alaska) cruise a couple of years ago. No provision for paquebot mail on either ships. But Wi-Fi was available. Jerry

Adding to my previous comments: I've always tried to be an adventuresome and innovative collector and done just what I am about to suggest on occasion. Prepare your covers in advance with postage for the ports of call. Go to the ships pursar's office (maybe have to start with the reception desk) and ask that each cover be stamped with the ship's stamp. Then drop them in the mail at the port of call. (And me, I'd ask for the covers to be hand stamped right there - and maybe also ask for hand back)

Sure do, and they even supply the stationery, if you are in the right cabin. We were lucky as we received a free upgrade.
