I bought an old album of sheets. When looking through the pages it looked like a few of the sheets on the gum side had spots where they were stuck to the page and gum removed. When I removed the sheets they were not stuck the spots were powder. Looks like someone put powder on the sheets so they wouldn't stick to the pages. Has anyone run into this before?

Usually talcum powder, the poor-man's version of today's widely available silica desiccants (the latter have been in use commercially for a century but not really available to the average consumer until more recently).
