hi guys new to the forum, I have been handed down a stamp collection with mainly these two types of stamps, I haven't seen anything around about them. wondering if anyone could shed some light on where to look on this forum for them, or what they are worth or if these brand are rare, dates range from late 1800's up too the 1960's

HI Daniel (and welcome to the forum). I wasn't trying to be cryptic. If you want particular info, it's best to post some pictures. Both of these countries have put out a LOT of stamps over the years. Prices and rarity will vary widely, though I think most are pretty common.

Yes, both of those countries issued lots of stamps. Pre-WWII stamps were, for the most part, designed for postal use and they saw extensive use on mail. Although there are some stamps from the pre-WWII era that are worth several dollars or more, most are relatively common, easy to find, and cheap. After WWII they produced stamps - and lots of them - mostly aimed at collectors. These were very cheap and they were popular amongst casual and topical collectors. But there were so many stamps produced that most of these have little to no real value, often being sold for a penny or two apiece or even by weight. Again, there may be a few here or there that are worth a little bit more, but by and large, the great bulk of stamps issues from those two countries are cheap and plentiful. It's possible your collection contains specialty items that may be more valuable, but you'll need to post pictures to get an answer about that.
