I think they are similar to Great Britain "sorting dots" but would like an opinion. A normal 1374 beside one with odd dots on the bottom. A round, round, then almost square dot with very light blue center. Maybe Morse Code (letter U)?

Partime...I changed the colour format to get a better look at what you were seeing..We could almost classify the 2 round ones as "donut ", but that square one is weird..Maybe someone else has some ideas.

Thanks Wert. I played with it a little more too, and came up with the following:

I had thought it was a Sorting Dot, re: this older thread ..

I now think it is confirmed by close examination of this GB Machin, with almost the same pattern:

The Canada example was probably just over soaked. Oh well, on to the next problem.

Obviously a tribute to the three stars of Orion's belt: Alnitak, Alnilam, and Mintaka.

Aren't those also the names of the countries issuing the "Most Valuable Stamps This Week"?

The coded dots have appeared on GB covers for a long time and depending on the size of the envelope etc they did frequently cross the postage stamps.
