Is it possible for you to acknowledge satisfaction with the conclusions I drew for you in your other thread(s) on the #206? Did we lay that to rest to your satisfaction?
Andrea, intuition is no substitute for a systematic study of hard evidence. |

Actually this is a new topic .....I was not referring to the A44
I have looked at the measurements of many flat plate printings and I have read about them as we'll but I haven't been able to find one that measures 22.5
the Scott cat says a flat plate printing is 22mm high

Yes, I know this thread is about a 20th century topic, Andrea. And by just walking away from those other threads leaving things hang you are forgetting your manners. So I know you will understand if I forget mine. After all, we are reasonable people here, are we not? |

I agree. The community has offered reasonable help here, but it's unfair to keep asking questions without studying the extensive literature in this area. Research is essential in philately.
Your measurements are probably in error. Unless you're using a costly vernier caliper or comparing an expertized reference stamp under a microscope, you're not going to get this right. |

PS The harding stamp is not expertised if it measured 22 1/5 high like the Martha stamp I would have sent it in. |

How about it, Andrea. Are we finished with the discussion on the A44 related threads? How did that turn out for you? |

If you had a stamp shop measure your harding at 22.25mm, then the owner's not too bright... because ***IF*** it measures that, it (could be) a 613, in which case, he should either have made you a cash offer for the stamp on the spot, or partnered with you for the cost of a cert (if it's a 613) and split the profits with you...
The above would be under the assumption the stamp is Perf 11 |
