In the process of searching the web I came upon this link and thought I'd share it. Although obviously geared toward Masonic connections with stamps, there are quite a few interesting articles that some folks here might find interesting reading:

That is a pretty cool publication. Makes me want to go join the Freemasons so I can become a member. :)

I doubt I could join the Freemasons since I currently live in Mainland China and Freemasons have been banned since the Communists took over.

What exactly is a Mummer? All I could think of is the British dancing. Can't get on Google to search since the commies here also block Google. :)

Oh, the Great Firewall is a fun fun thing. When I can get my VPN to work it is okay but when I can't, it's a serious pain in the ass. They now block everything Google so even when I go to a webpage that uses Google Fonts, something that the rest of world wouldn't even notice, I can't see the page or it takes forever to load. Probably the only place in the world that purposely slows the Internet down in order to frustrate people to use national sites only, which they can then monitor activity.

I know the Mummers all too well. A Philadelphia tradition. Nothing like staying up all night drinking on New Years Eve, only to put on feathered costumes first thing in the morning on New Years Day and march in a parade playing musical instruments.

Between them and Cheesesteaks, Philadelphia is a fine place to be.

I had set this postcard aside for posting to my own 'Ethnographs' thread ...

... but a quick search of SCF showed me that it really belonged here :)

Cheers,

I have always had an interest in the Masons, but am forbidden from joining them because I am Catholic.
