Hi all,
I was just wondering if anybody would have a good knowledge base on Czechoslovakia and Polish stamps dating (which is varied) from 1954/1982, if not then please could one of you please point me in the right direction for a catalog that would have them in? as I have got in excess of 200 stamp sheets and don't suppose people would like me to upload them all, they have been cancelled by the postal agent at the post office (some, if not all on the first day of issue). Just to let you know, even though I have no experience with full stamp sheets I believe some of them are part sets (maybe full sets too?), I have come to this conclusion as the dates of cancellation on some of them are on the same date (first day of issue cancel) or lots of multiple Olympic stamps in full sheets) some have damage also due to not being stored correctly.
If any of you would like me to put pictures up then please let me know,as this will be a long process. Thankyou in advance,
Turbo

I think Gibbons' Part 5 catalogue covers both. May be available via your library, or through an auction if you want to avoid spending £30.

THE English online Polish catalogue is Ben Nieborg's Stamp Encyclopaedia Poland. Go to the "year of issue" section & then browse by year. In the upper left of each page is the stamp number for Michel, Scott & Fischer which is the main Polish catalogue. If there's anything Polish you're stuck with I can help. I've also got Michel, Scott & Gibbons catalogues for Czechoslovakia so should be able to help there.

There is also the newish online world catalogue which is very comprehensive.

Thank you. The other thing to bear in mind is that most Czech stamps have very little value - the CVs are probably lower, and certainly in real terms, than they were fifty years ago. Almost unparalleled - in the modern world - quality of design, however.

TurboJay - To find out if there are any complete sets among your full sheets of cancelled Czechoslovakian stamps consult http://www.filaso.cz/katalog-rocnik/csr/1954 and the other years of issue. In my opinion, they will probably be incomplete sets to be broken into cheap "20-different-stamps" packets for beginners.

On storage, Lighthouse do an album with pockets that will take most sheets. They'll also be better quality material than something you buy in Ryman's. But given that the sheets probably aren't worth a great deal, you might be buying a garage without a Ferrari to put in it, to reverse the usual cliche.
