Had to share this one. I have an interest in postal savings and war savings material, and enjoy picking up uses of the savings stamps on cover. This one - a 10-cent war savings issue along with 2 cent prexies on a 1950 parcel tag from Reesville, Ohio to Columbus, certainly ranks among the more unusual examples I've seen. (and it wasn't assessed postage due).... The tag was, by its own explanation at right, "for use only to return empty Burlap Strips to the Dispatch." The Dispatch was the major Columbus newspaper.
