Hi to all

This sheet of stamps was in an accumulation that I bought, manly pre decimals,
Who was LEBER and where in Melbourne was he.

From the paper and the writing this was done a long time ago.
Decimal currency has been in Australia for 48 years, my guess is the sheet is more than 60 years old.
any ideas.

Regards

Horamakhet

Not much to go on, but apparently Mr. Leber was a stamp dealer, along with other business interests working under the name "Boomerang Enterprises". I found these listings, suggesting he was active at least during the years 1947-1950. His address is shown on both references below:

thanks Wt1

That is a great help.

I am trying to line up his descriptions of varieties with ACSC, but it is always interesting to know where they originated.

Hi Horamakhet,
I'm new to this site so I hope I do this correctly. I had a quick search of the National Library of Australia, Trove Digitised Newspapers and found a reference to Leber. A newspaper article (Argus 26th Feb, 1938) refers to a a price list by J. Leber in a 16 page booklet (booklet dated Feb/March 1938) that can be obtained for free (albeit a bit late for us). It appears to be part of a regular article titled "Your Stamps and Mine" by Ronald M Younger. The articles can be found easily if you search the National Library of Australia Trove Digitised Newspapers. The Leber referred to appears to be different from the one suggested earlier. He was able to be contacted at the Nicholas Building, Melbourne. Hope this helps, Cheers, Stephen
