There is a local estate auction of a well known art collector with one stamp related item in the sale. Looking for some info on what would be a decent price to pay for this to add to my collection. Just looking not to over spend and need help as the item also has the original signature of the artist on the stamps next to it but not on the stamps themselves. Item is framed, see link for item. Thanks for any info.
"A framed set of Day of Issue Canada Post stamps showing images taken from the work of Jean-Paul Lemieux, the card signed by the artist."
I'm well versed in such matters and I'd say it will sell for $100 and be worth a bit more than that. (I'm assuming this is not just a framed FDC of course). If that's the case - make it $50 or less. Is he still alive (that would be a factor)
I've got those 5 signatures that you can compare it to, looks similar to me. Maybe the J of Jean is a little different, but the Lemieux looks pretty much the same.
Mine is from +/- 10 years before yours, maybe it changed a little bit.
