Hi All

I am trying to find out if there is any website that describes some of the Indian Native States in detail? I have some Jammu-Kashmir stamps, some with fairly high catalogue values, others cheaper of course. However, I am aware that there are many reprints out there. There is also the problem with oil printed colours and water printed colours. How does one determine if these are originals or reprints? Usually, I would post images in here, but,I thought I would ask for a descriptive site first, if one exists?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Chimo

For Jammu & Kashmir, you can't go past http://www.kashmirstamps.com/index.html

Do be forewarned, though: in my experience, around 90% of the old Circulars are forgeries or reprints. Picking watercolours from oils, and reprints from originals, requires a fair bit of exposure to these issues. If it looks like an expensive stamp, it probably isn't
