In my Scott catalog this stamp seems to be a combination of an A24 and A25.
The A24 has Bolivar facing right. The A25 has Bolivar facing left. So at first glance this is an A25. But...
The A25 10c is green. Also, The A25 in the catalog shows Bolivar written in the bottom curve not centimos. The A24 has centimos written in the bottom.
But the A24 has correos written across the top not instruccion. The A25 has instruccion....well I think you get what I mean.

Can anyone give me a clue?

Hi stampcrow,

Yes the design is Scott A25 but this one is from the 1901 change of colours.

The word "bolivar" in the A25 picture refers to the currency. Some values are in centimos and others in bolivars.

The SG catalogue lists the 1901 set (SG 227-235) but I don't see it in Scott.

oh my, the "Bolivar" is a measure of currency. Man, my ignorance must appear ugly. Thank you nigelc!
This would be SG 228 then?

There is a note in my 2007 Scott Classic that says, "After July 1, 1895, stamps inscribed "Escuelas" or "Instruccion" were no longer available for postage. Stamps of design A25 in different shades than those listed were printed after 1895." The note is somewhat unclear -- does it mean that the stamp shown by stampcrow is a revenue?

You're welcome. This is SG 229 as there's also a 10c vermilion.

Hi stampcrow

If you e-mail me at jerrybemail-stamps "at" yahoo "dot" com I can send you a table that defines all these issues. Please use SCF-Venezuela as a subject so it doesn't get deleted.

P.S. Table is available to anyone who wishes a copy.

If it's anything like his Mexico Exportas sheet, it is a large multi-page spreadsheet which would not translate well to an SCF post.

Hi
Thanks smauggie. It is one of the tables that is contained in the StampRefs tables.

To floortrader. These tables were created for my friend's stamp store. They are designed to facilitate breaking down collections, especially items where Scott notes are as "see 123-4,C56-7" The "thread" was traced and a table made.

Lately I have added tables to StampRefs that are, in essence, informational, like the Venezuela table. Unfortunately, as smauggie stated, none of the tables would fit into SCF.

Hi floortrader

--Sorry for the delay, I was in the hospital for a week --

If you e-mail me at jerrybemail-stamps "at" yahoo "dot" com with a subject of SCF-Venezuela I can send you the table. There may be more info than you think as I based the table on Blanco specialized Venezuela catalog. The table also cross references to other catalogs.

Hi Floortrader

Thanks. I was put on a new medication and it caused an infection that wiped me out for a few days.

I know where we differ with the table. You are counting only the Bolivar issues (you get 48 and I have 42). The difference is that the table includes other back-of-the book revenues.

Quote:
No catalog lists them all

Blanco specialized Venezuela catalog does list them all. There are pages of non-Scott listed revenues.
