I have to dispose of an early collection and find difficulty using the the Scott catalogue May I, for example, show two stamps that appear to be the 1864 Scott 19 half real brownish and the 1864 Scott 25 8 reales pinkish. But I may have completely misidentified them. I would be grateful for advice. These scans are at only 200 dpi because that seems to be all that is allowed. I can scan at up to 2400 dpi if I have a way of posting them.

As far as images are concerned, I scan at 1200DPI and then scale back the detail a bit where they still fit within the 100KB file size limit but are of a sufficiently significant size and detail form examination.

It also helps to crop the image as close to the stamp as possible. Here is an example of what you can do.

Hello friend!

Your stamps are of the Eagles of the Mexican Empire under French Occupation.

* First stamp: 1/2 real - Lilac, Consignment and year: 119-1864, District Mexico - used in 2nd. Period - Scott #20b

* second stamp: 8 reales, Consignment and year: 192-1864, District Mexico - used in 3nd. Period - Scott #25a

The 1/2 real must be brown not lilac-brownish, example (your stamp match with the second of the image of the 2nd. Period):

Regards!
Rodolfo

Oh my Gosh.
I was looking at the Net for Mexico as I have to dispose of fifty or more classics and found the citing of your response to me. I checked on this board, and yes it is there. I had not seen it. Please accept my apologies for my missing it and my thanks for your information. Are those two worth selling or do I give them to the local juniors?
Best wishes

Michael
