I think the stamps oxidized once in my possession. My two carmines (3˘ VR numeral and 2˘ Edward) definitives are quite dark, as well.
Now... should I do that peroxide treatment, I wonder. Does it destroy the gum?

sak...here is a picture of one stamp I put in peroxide...10 min. soak in peroxide and 10 min. soak in clear water...you choice though..

Since the above postings, I have been looking at my early stamps closely and found that I have had to replace the following stamps due to oxidation:



That makes eleven items in all. And, of course, that makes me wonder...



Is the call coming from inside my own house !!
