A few years ago at Metropex Tom Eckers had a bunch of old Metropex cachets for 25 cents each at the greeting table. I don't collect that sort of thing, but somehow I have a bunch. The Maplewood club is a great club. I have been a member since 1996. The club itself started in 1960 or 61. Someone correct me. We had one of the original founding members pass just a couple years ago, (Arnie).
I was at the Post Office Postal Emporium in downtown St. Paul(where you could buy old US mint stamps for face value!) in 1990 and Chuck Ptacek had covers with these cancels and encouraged me to join the club. I think I finally joined in 1998. Now I will be running Metropex in 2015. One thing I wonder is what is the earliest Metropex cover?
These are actually my Son's. They were given to him by the Maplewood Stamp club a couple of years ago when he attended one of the shows up in Crystal, probably Snowpex. Maplewood Stamp club was giving out care packages to all the children attending the show and my Son thought it was the greatest.
