Lettrs Calls Postage Stamps Into Social Duty

I haven't quite grasped the entire concept, but it appears to be a start-up creating "virtual letters" -- but with what appears to be "virtual stamps", some of which are boldly copying old US Stamp issues in their general design:




One would think the USPS would frown on such an arrangement, if for no other reason than mimicking old US stamp designs. What do you think?

Well, it looks kind of dumb to me, but I suppose someone will like it. Since these "stamps" do not say US Postage I doubt if the USPS will object.

The Liberty stamp is denominated and says "U.S. Postage," but not the other two. I would assume that the vendors have considered USPS copyright issues, but what about the original stamp designers? Do they give up their rights when they design a stamp for the USPS? Wikipedia claims the iconic Moon Landing stamp is in the public domain:
