I recently got a new Batman stamp with a pray-on slogan cancellation. I thought it was just neat enough to scan. -Jeff

Getting the set of four round Batmans used will be a challenge! Nice cover! Yours is the first I have seen.

Yes, I like it too! It looks a bit sinister to me; I hope there was no bad news in it!

Looks almost as if the hand shutting off the light (for Energy Action Month) is reaching out from the Batman logo.

How many recognize another interesting item? Look at the handstamp from Catskill, NY:

1. While the USPS continues to remove commas between City and State names, why is it that in the State abbreviation for New York "N.Y." is used (with periods) when the acceptable State abbreviation should be "NY" with no periods?

2. Also if you look at the bottom of the Catskill, NY postmark, the ZIP Code is written with five digits following by a hyphen (-), presumably the mark that would only be used if a 9-digit ZIP Code were present.

Seemingly minor items, but it looks as if someone had the handstamp made in haste and didn't bother to correct such details.
