Here's another one for Peter to verify. I think it shows a tagging clip, but would like your opinion. The stamps under normal light, then UV light. The left stamp has incomplete tagging on the right side.

Partime, you are partially correct. Your stamp shows a tagging break! A tagging clip is another beast. It is the devise that held the tagging mat in place on the old Cottrell presses, back in the 80's.

That is a wider gap than I have heard of for this issue. (actually I shouldn't say gap as the term break is the preferred word for tagging for some reason).

The tagging clips and screw heads were last seen on some of the Cotrell press issues (2c Locomotive, 5c Motorcycle, 17c Auto).
