Hi everyone! The last unknown perfins in my stampcollection... Does anyone know which firms used them? Might CB/H be City Council of Hammersmith and W/C Wandsworth Council? I would really appreciate your help! (Seasons) greetings from Holland!

I have little to no knowledge of UK perfins, but I thought I'd give it a shot as I did find some potential perfin ID's when searching the internet. They may or may not be correct, so take it with a grain of salt until you're able to confirm with those more knowledgeable. Nevertheless, here's what I came up with:
LCS = Lincoln Cooperative Society CB/H = CB (County Borough) Hartlepool W/C = Borough of Walthamstow STH = St. Thomas Hospital SLO = Sun Life Assurance Society |

wt1 got all but one correctly. W/C is listed as Walthamstow Corporation That may be a name for borough, but don't know.

Thank you both for your help! I've searched the Internet all over, but couldn't find a thing... Maybe I should take some lessons in efficient googling ;-)!

hello damian, very nice perfins. I have lots of machin stamps, I do not know, how to collect them or catalog them. I recently downloaded the adminware basic stamp pages for machins. It is an eye opener, but I find it difficult to find differences between shades of colors. Any how, I feel great that collectors on stamp community could help me build my machin collection.
warm wishes. |

For whatever it's worth, here's where I came up with the apparently incorrect (?) "W /C" perfin as from Borough of Walthamstow: |

Hi wt1: that's a nice reference-site! Thanks for the tip. Google definitely didn't come up with this one. Probably the W/C is written in a different height or charactertype. You can't see that unfortunately. Thanks again for all your effort! |

Hi wt1, British town or borough councils were often called "corporations". |

Interesting. So could it be that "Walthamstow Corporation" and/or "Borough of Walthamstow" may refer to the same perfin user?

Hi wt1,
Yes, these were two names for the same organisation. The local government area it administered is now part of the London Borough of Waltham Forest. |
