The two type of US machine cancels. The common (Perfect Company) cancel is the one with U.S.A., however, this example is dated June 12, which is extremely scarce. The scarce machine (Universal company) cancel is shown in the June 10 example. The one without the "periods" (USA).

This could be a Crosby photo cover, but I'm not sure. To me, it just doesn't have the Crosby feel to it. However, it's unusual since the photograph wasn't applied (or fell off) on the bottom cover and the post office put its datestamp in the area.

I believe they are Crosby photos. It is also interesting to see an example of a blank cachet used as well.

I don't believe it is a Crosby. Crosby cachets typically have some sort of decoration/illustration surrounding the photo.

Two of the reasons that I don't feel the above cachet is a Crosby is that it doesn't have the oration decorations and the photo doesn't match an of the other photos that I have seen. I have in my collection over 60 different proven Crosby cachet designs and colors just with the RV issue. Many attribute a cachet to Crosby when they seen thermography and small photos together on a cachet from this period.
