Thanks for sharing the article mkfarm.
I've been on alligator alley in Florida and I never knew this post office existed or the story behind it.

I love traveling roadside America it's much funner than traveling on expressways where your stops are usually an oasis of fast food chains and gas stations , on another note my long trips were always accompanied by AM radio DXing and I sure will miss hearing Paul Harvey who just passed away.

Officially made my 50th post and in no hurry , always felt that I had all the time in the world to collect stamps.

I have lived throughout the east coast from Pa to Florida. There are many unique things to see when taking the back roads. However I am always amazed at what type of buildings are used for post offices.

I have learned though not to try and stop at most small post offices during lunch time. There are many one person post offices and yes they close for lunch.

Did the postcard also feature the small post office? SO it is by itself a unique postcard

I take pictures of post offices wherever I visit.

Phil Bruno couldn't figure out why I wanted a picture of the U.S. Post Office in Red Hook, NY!
