I found this in a bunch of stuff, the card the stamp is mounted to is probably more interesting than the stamp. Does anyone know who Paul Washburn is? I'm guessing an old time dealer.
Interesting how contradictory his comments are: a)in catalogue b)not listed in catalogue c)catalogued d)not listed in Scott's. I'm not sure Mr Washburn would be a dealer speaking with such a lack of precision.
Just out of curiosity - is that stamp glued to the card?
These make the main Gibbons catalogue where they have a postal cancellation. My ancient catalogue also refers to the fact that most "used" examples of the revenue stamps have had the pen cancellations cleaned and forged postmarks applied.
The Barefoot catalogues are a series of world revenue and telegraph stamp catalogues, the former by region, the latter in a single volume updating the Hiscock telegraph stamp catalogue.
Thanks for the information, after I asked the question I decided from the context it was probably a catalog, but I've never heard of it before. Revenues are a world unto themselves IMO.
