Not only the images are poor. Unless they are not showing the issue well this is the worst Chinese New year issue yet.

I am completely, totally, thoroughly OVER Chinese New Year Stamps.

No offense intended to those who collect, but I can think of so many other subjects that I'd rather see on stamps.

Back in August 2014, Linn's Stamp News offered a list that pretty much is in line with what was posted earlier in this thread:

Kirk - Canada is officially - and unofficially looking to the East and the West. Our communities are now that of the Euro dollar and Asia-Pacific. That's why we continue the New year series and why many issues in the last few years have linked to Europe.

Kirk I agree with you 1000%.

I could barely stomach the first annual Chinese New Year series
but this second rehash is just ridiculous.
In Canada Post's own annual stamp surveys these Chinese New Year
labels where voted the least necessary stamps issued.
So why continue with them a second time around?

It appears like a total pandering to one ethnic group whether
for votes or trade with the mother country?

Either way Canada is not New China, not yet anyway.

I also agree with Kirk and others re Chinese new year.
Maybe someday Canadians will get tired of cow-towing to whatever Canada Post thinks we should be bowing to on our stamps/stickers.
Does China issue stamps to recognize Canada Day?
IMO, the 2015 projected line-up has only a few worthy examples.
They are: the flag anniversary, Sir John A., In Flanders Fields (again), and Provincial birds.
2nd choices are: Pets, Photographs, FIFA, weather and Christmas (ooops, that probably should be Politically Correct "Holiday").
The rest don't deserve even a bronze.
Sorry; but, a guy who makes millions for playing hockey doesn't rate "hero" status when real heroes go unrecognized.
As for the junior hockey win stamp, CP says it needs three years advance notice before releasing a stamp. But, the CP fortune-tellers probably knew three years ago that Canada would win....just like at the 2010 Olympics.
The post Office has been losing big bucks for years despite making collectors go broke from trying to keep up with the ridiculous issues every year, raising rates and reducing services.
Maybe they'll someday admit that mismanagement has its own rewards.

Over 2 million Canadians celebrate the "Chinese" New Year - those of Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Sri Lankan, Japanese, Cambodian, Taiwanese, and Laotian origins.
Almost half (43%) of Metro Vancouver residents have an Asian heritage, which is a much higher proportion than any other major city outside the continent of Asia.

And the other 30 million Canadians who get ONE stamp on say Canada day...

Dont get me wrong, it is a good thing to identify any group, any event.
