I have two questions regarding this column in Linn's that reviews kilo ware mixtures. Which classified section does it pull from? Mixtures? Worldwide? Approvals? All of them?
Secondly, I've subscribed to Linn's for about 35 years and believe I've read the column fairly faithfully since it's inception. Has he/she ever found a mixture they didn't like?

I believe it usually pulls from the mixtures and packets section with maybe the occasional selection from the worldwide category. I don't think I've seen a review of a dealer's approval teaser. There has been the occasional less-than-glowing review, but nothing scathing that I can remember. I've ordered hundreds of packets from dozens of sellers advertising in the classifieds and I'd say my experience matches Rawolik's - i.e. I'm rarely disappointed. I think the best deals to be had on stamp packets is through the Linn's classifieds - certainly better than my experience buying mixes on ebay.

I have read at least one review of his that was not particularly positive. The review are of offers made in the classifieds by individuals selling bulk stamps (usually those offers selling $x Scott catalog for $y).

Yes, there are some reviews that are less positive than others. And I think the reviewers (there are more than one) do a good job at choosing their words and descriptions well. The reviewer may find the mixture is mostly average material, but two or three top-notch stamps made it worthwhile ... or there was a dominance of stamps from one country that made it interesting, etc.
