Tikihindi, is it really missing or is it a blind perforation? Not easy to tell with the small pictures!

The missing perf "freak" on the Marilyn Monroe Stamp (Scott 2967) was described in this Linn's Stamp News Refresher Course article (see figure 3):

http://www.linns.com/howto/refreshe...rcourse.aspx

Quote:
Figure 3 shows the 32˘ Marilyn Monroe stamp of 1995. This issue was created with star-shaped perforation holes in each corner of each stamp, but the example shown has one such perforation completely missing at upper left. A single unpunched hole does not qualify the stamp as an error, but this variety is recognized and sought-after by collectors.

Interestingly, the variety is said to be "recognized and sought after" yet it is not listed in the Scott Specialized Catalog.

thank wt1
looks like they have recently added this information. Does Linn's
mention both varieties.
1. is at the Top of sheet
2. is between row 2-3 and column 1-2.

This is really interesting story. I used to Philately bureau every
15 days. For a month or so I did not get chance so one day from work I dropped at post office at got few new Issues.
Next week I went there clerk told me that he has Marilyn Monroe freaks. So I asked and got six sheets.
After 15 days I went to other Philatelic center in Virginia and asked for these freaks clerk told me that he does not have them but I have other position missed perforation. so I got second set.

When I was in Virginia my favorite were four places. two in DC and
two in VA. L'Enfant plaza and Union station. In Virginia prosperity
avenue and Springfield Post offices.
@ gar you got it
