I just scrolled through the 27 pages of this thread. Holy Perforation Batman! I gotta go back and take some notes of books to look for. Some incredible volumes here.
Here's three I picked up today at a used book store. Don't know how handy they'll be, but at least I've satisfied that little stamp-book monkey on my back...for a while.

This arrived on Saturday. My initial impression is that it will be a valuable companion my Cole and Skinner/Eno books, but it appears to suffer from having cancellation types scattered throughout the book. In my first few skims, I noted NYFM, leaves & stars in multiple spots. This is the biggest disadvantage to a sequential numbering system - albeit one I expected to encounter as I was able to examine a copy at the 2015 APS show. Hopefully the ToC is accurate for the 2012 Revised Edition.

Morris' 2-cent Small Banknote book (w/great color guide)

Luff's Slogan Cancel Catalog

A 3-cent green handbook ca.1915, of which I'd never heard.

Sloat's Airmail Special Delivery book.

Most of the specialists philatelic books seem pretty old - does anyone publish (not catalogs and such) specialist books today?

Michael Gutman handled the publishing. Authors are Gutman, John Bowman, Richard Frajola, William Sammis, David Snow, David Stimmell and Scott Trepel, who comprise "The Eastern Independent Mail Company Study Group."

Taking advantage of the Pound being at 30-yr lows vs the US$ in wake of Leave winning the referendum to grab a bunch of Gibbons catalogs. Took only 6 days to ship from England to the USA, which shocked me!
