Nice books Kirk. You'll enjoy the Courntey. I unwrapped this one this morning. The missus had to order it online, since it was just published earlier this month and not available (in Canada anyway) in bookstores yet. For all her eye rolling, she's actually one of my biggest enablers.

Nice one, James.

I was inspired to get "The Queen's Stamps" because of your post above.

Looks like an interesting book. I just ordered it on Amazon.com and look forward to a good read. My wife likes anything that keeps me in my den and quiet...so I used her account...and credit card LOL.
Thanks for the heads up James.

Great books showing up in here from everybody. Kirk, regarding Rennie's Seeds of Toronto, I have a few commercial covers in my collection from that company. They are a study all by themselves and I wasn't aware of the publication you posted in here.

Great stuff

Bujutsu.

I don't collect those covers, but saw the book announced in the BNAPS Books Newsletter (and/or in the latest BNA Topics).

It looked so interesting, I added it to my Christmas Wish List.

The BNAPS website is usually a bit behind in listing new books, but you can find it on the Spinks page

Picked this up today. Published 1960, reprinted 1972. Thought it might be interesting.

Very interesting, James.

I'd love to hear your "review" of the book; or even your first impressions.

A somewhat belated response to:

Quote:
U.S. Commemorative Stamps. of the 20th Century by Max G. Johl Vol. 1&2

Does anyone know how many total volumes there are to this 20th Century series? These cover the periods 1901-1935 and 1935-1947 respectively.

At least four, which are in PDF format here:

The links you posted lead to Johl, United States Postage Stamps of the 20th Century.

Is that the same as United States Commemorative Stamps of the 20th Century, which is what the person you responded to was inquiring about?

The library grows and grows.
Got this a couple of weeks ago from my daughter for my birthday

And picked these two up yesterday on the last day of our trip to Chicago. Got home late last night.

The last one is an over 400 page study on RPOs. Hoping it will help me decipher some of my covers.

For interests sake, the gentlemen pictured on the front of the Forgers book are, top to bottom, E. Stanley Gibbons, Jean de Sperati, Henry Heckler, George Jeffryes and Samuel C. Upham.
