Quite! Thanks for the link, Blaamand. I'll have a look for this the next time in Paris, which may save me a few € on postage.

Good one Greaden

I had kind of the same experience. I actually stumbled across this book by pure coincidence. However once I had seen it - I knew it would cause me unrest until I got it in my bookshelf.

Renden

You might want to start with Maury first - a lot of information therein.

Sorry - I didn't make myself clear. I was suggesting that you pick up the Maury catalogue before you purchase the specialist booklet!

Renden - Your welcome - and welcome to the study of classic French!

Geoff's advise is absolutely a good one - you'll need a Maury to make sense of the shades in the specialised booklet. My bad, I should have stated that in my first post on this subject. Thanks Geoff

Renden,

You can order it from colectura.com The shipping to N America is high but if you get 2-3 things that helps

I don't have much of a hard(soft) back library. Most of my "library" is on-line links to useful information. I have an old Scotts WW catalog and as more recent Scotts US Specialized catalog, but mostly I use Internet resources as my library.

@Renden - Sure, it's just pure pleasure to see others getting inspired by the same stuff as myself. That's a part of what makes this community great - we're getting inspiration from each others - and there are (almost) always someone even more nerdy than yourself !

(Edit) I am heading home from work in Brazil, and I sincerely hope my own sample of the 'Le Grand nuancier..' is waiting for me at the post office)

Blaamand - if you are in Brazil (esp if you in Sao Paulo) you should try to pick up a copy of the RHM Catalogo dos Sellos do Brasil, the main specialized catalog for Brazil. It's not cheap, but would be a lot cheaper to get in Brazil than via mail order to Norway. It is really the "Bible" of Brazilian philately.
