I'm enjoying these pictures of your stamp library, must have taken you quite awhile to assemble it.

Today was a fruitful day for adding to my small library -

This arrived from the UK - already I can see so much more detail in it than the Yvert catalogue covering the same period. Going to be a great workout of my rusty French!

Got these at a local used bookstore that never seems to be open, but by chance today it was. Some other Canadian reference works there too, so will have to go back...

From 1920, looks like an interesting read.

This last is the commemorative book from the opening of the Canadian National Postal Museum in Ottawa in 1974. Very attractive, informative text with inset engravings and blocks of 1974 stamps.

I've finally managed to get a copy of this on my shelf. Number 122 of a limited edition of 500. I'm very pleased!

Madame Joseph was a postmark "forger" who created some 400+ very dangerous forgeries. Here's a sample page

And here's an example of 5 SP 19 (type 149 above) I have in my store

This came the other day, from the Royal Philatelic Society.
This is quite a tour-de-force covering postal rates from Britain to many destinations, with good write-ups giving lots of background.

I've been searching for a copy of that William Smith book for several years now. It's quite elusive!

@jamesw I found the Wm Smith book purely by chance in a used bookstore, wasn't even looking for it. Just checked, and saw a copy for sale on Amazon.ca. Since it's out of copyright, available for online reading using gutenburg.org as well. Finished reading it, so would be happy to send it to you for reading, but would like it back once done (email me if you like).

I still have my 1958 HE Harris catalog. I wish I had purchased my collection back then!

Thanks all. I'll keep looking. Not keen on online shopping (like to keep the brick and mortar shops going) plus Amazon often doesn't mail to Canada.
I'm off to the Old Book and Paper Show in Toronto this weekend. Always looking there. Saw a copy a couple of years ago for $175!! Turns out it was from the library of Robert Borden, our WWI Prime Minister. Think you were paying for the provenance more than anything else.

Good luck - I too love browsing old book stores (and shows) as you never know what interesting finds pop up. I won't tell you how little I paid for my copy then :)
