Yes, but the website certainly SUCKS.
There are dead links on the front page. There are thumbnail images -- clicking them gives you an equally small (and useless) thumbnail in a pop-up window. |

Actually, I am pretty amazed at how off centre most of the stuff is. Yeah he has multiples, but it looks second rate to me. Was talking to some dealers about the auctions in general, on how disappointed, they were in the overall quality. Like one said, "The blocks are nice looking, but once you remove the one good stamp from it, what do you do with the other three? The two that are hinged, and the one that is off centre? The secondary market for this type of material is drying up, as everyone is looking for quality." |

Just a difference of opinion, here, but under no circumstances would I break apart any of these blocks/sheets. Your statement reinforces my belief that a lot of dealers are not interested in philately, but are much more interested in turning a profit - even to the detriment of postal history. Don't get me wrong - I'm all for making a profit - but not at the expense of breaking apart such uncommon items! Brian |

I like the booklet that they have on their website that shows how Brigham's admiral stamps were displayed in stamp exhibits. |

OMG, it's NOT the individual stamps that are important in most of the lots. Of course, they are off centre, the value is in the Plates strips, blocks, sheets. Rarity seldom seen by most people. Maybe the dealers that fantail was talking to need to do a little homework and educate themselves about the difference between a stamp collector and a philatelist. |

A dealer who is not interested in profit soon becomes a poverty stricken former dealer. |

For the time period of from around 90 to over 100 years ago, very few stamps would have been very well centred given that the electric eye perforator did not exist until the late 1930s and early 1940s. Also, many blocks and plate blocks for Canadian issues from that time are harder to find than for U.S. issues due to less quantities having been printed. I have found that for Canada the Admiral (1911-1925) stamp issue tends in a way to parallel the U.S. Washington-Franklin (1908-1922) stamp issue in terms of different stamps, similar long length, different varieties, different printings, etc. I have been fascinated by both. |

I am not a Canada collector, but a couple of days ago I was very impressed by an ad in the "American Philatelist". On page 217 of the March issue is a picture of eleven strips of 2 of imperforated Admirals, and they are beautiful! It is supposed to be an auction in Florida, but they failed to mention the date!

WIP doesn't conduct auctions. The ad you referenced is a private treaty, net price offering. |
