I'm 'forced' to do a little research on the stamps of Mahra State or Sultanate and find that Stanley Gibbons dismisses most as bogus or at least superfluous. They only catalogue the flags definitives of 1967. But I've found a website that claims that some of the earlier bogus stamps may not be as bogus as the later ones, with the cut-off point being the moment when the National Liberation Front took control over the area.
So I'm curious to see how for example Scott handles this situation, but I haven't got one at home. Does Scott list any issues? And if so, which one(s)?
Does maybe anyone have a Michel or an Yvert & Tellier and can tell me how they handle this?
That area was under British Rule in the 1880's under the Aden Protectorate. After 1967 it eventually became part of Yemen Scott does list Aden stamps. Maybe there is some connection?
