The first comprehensive philatelic handbook in English that covers all collecting aspects of the Memel-Klaieda Territory (1920–1925) has been published.



The handbook organized in three parts deals with: Postal and political chronicles, Postal rates and postal history, Post offices and cancellations, Fakes and forgeries, Air and rail post, Registry labels and other postal markings, Postal stationery, Perfins, Parcel post, Revenue stamps, Memel and Klaipeda stamps, and stamp varieties.

The Memel / Klaipeda Philatelic Handbook is distributed in eBook (PDF) format, fully searchable and enhanced with color images, available from MK Publishers http://mkpdirect.com/.

I have just downloaded all 3 volumes and it an amazing work. Highly recommended for the specialist and non-specialist alike. Thanks once again for the link, and I am definitely going to be busy for a while!

I'll probably pick this up fairly soon as well. The German area is my main collecting interest, but I've barely begun on Memel. I'll probably start in earnest on it within the next year or so and will be sure to get this before I get too far.
