Wert, it sort of looks like it, but your stamp does not show much contrast on my screen. Very hard to tell!

Looks like a more worn version of the same re-entry to me. Do you have the horizontal lines in the middle of the crown as shown at Ralph's? Nice find even if this is not the most striking re-entry.

Two more copies of the lovely 5 cent beaver stamp (#15) with the major re-entry were sold on ebay today. As always, somebody besides me with more money notices these and gets them. I came second on one auction but who knows how much the winner actually bid above me. Both auctions were from the same seller and the re-entry was not mentioned for either of them. See the pics below for auctions 361192417899 and 361192419545.

The top one was listed as unused but I think a pen cancelation was removed from it. I won the second copy it was with two other copies. I hope the other two have some plate varieties, too. Will examine them when they arrive.

That is funny that you beat me on this one, watermark. I guess your 2-cent-on-laid-paper auction sale has provided you with a slightly greater bankroll than me! I really thought I might get this one as other bidders would get side-tracked by the more obvious unused copy and not notice the second one in the group of three. Strange that two copies of such a beautiful re-entry would get lost in one sellers batch of auctions and not be identified correctly. I did check the other #15s in your lot and some of the other lots to see if this seller had a re-entry collection in his hands without knowing it. I could not see anything else significant in the scans. Good luck with the actual stamps and let me know what you find. Did you bid much more than I forced you to pay?

Scottamer...Here is the crown with lines.

Robert

Just heard back from Ralph
Hello Robert,

Iım so glad you enjoy my website!

Yes, this is a re-entry. Indeed, it is the second re-entry on the 8c
Jubilee that I show on my website for this value. Unfortunately, I only
have a scan of one-half of a full sheet, so I donıt yet have this one
plated.

Cheers,

Ralph

Wert, Great find. I don't have that one yet. Way to go.

Scattamer, My high bid on the 5c Beaver major was $95.99. Had it been sound I would have bid higher. This seller exaggerated the condition of both 5c Beaver stamps. The first major you picture has traces of a manuscript cancelation on it, although hard to see. He listed it as unused. The one I won has a pulled perforation but he had it listed as sound. He might not have noticed these flaws as well as not seeing the re-entries. He may have someone describing these for him that doesn't collect stamps. One should look at any lot very closely and bid accordingly.

Hi wert. Sorry I hijacked your post to discuss an entirely different re-entry. The image below shows approximately where I am seeing a removed or faded pen cancel. Since this stamp has no gum, damage at the bottom, and stains all over the place, I am not sure how it was given an "unused" grade.

I think that watermark definitely got the best of the two offered with the used copy. Although it is not the best centering, it appears from the scan to display the doubling at left really nicely. Gotta love that doubled sun in the sky as well.

No problem..I see it this way, every time a post is hijacked, we still learn something else..Something new...
