Actually wert he is quoting what I said but as I mentioned before it is the design of the stamp I'm criticizing, not the flag of course.

On the press sheet there are 12 souvenir sheets "plus 3 stamps". I wonder if these will be DIFFERENT from the stamps on the souvenir sheet?

BC, that press sheet looks pretty good but I don't
feel like throwing away $115.

I will definitely get 3 or 4 SS to use on small packets
to Europe but that's about it.

I think I figured what those 3 extra stamps on the press sheet are! They will be cut separately to be used for the annual collections and/or quarter packs.

Something like that was done years back for some Christmas stamps. I don't have my Unitrade handy to recall what issue, but I am sure it was explained in the ESG Corgi times a while back.

If so, that means the will be die-cut through and therefore be different stamps.

I am not sure either, about coughing up $115 for the press sheet...

The press sheet is already sold out!

Bee See: The 3 extra stamps are the "fabric" flags.

Like I said before.......I suspect this is a federal government make-work project for ink suppliers and printing firms. Does anyone have an idea of how many more flower varieties there are in Canada? Or indeed, lunar new years, sport figures, singer and comedians, etc.......??

It looks like Canada Post is creating varieties at vastly different monetary values to entice collectors to by the varieties and raise their bottom line. What a bummer!

Thanks sak. I guess that means the only way to get the fabric stamps is buying the press sheet?

I was confused by this description of the SOUVENIR SHEET (not the press sheet) from the Canada Post website:

This collectible fabric stamp is a first in Canada and an ideal keepsake celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Canadian flag. The ground-breaking stamp was designed by Kosta Tsetsekas and created by applying ink to a satin rayon fabric.

Bold is my emphasis.

Canada Post........stamp designs, postage rates, service, management ability, the whole mess.....not even a joke any more.
Its kind of difficult to come up with words to replace "joke" to describe CP; but, shame, disgrace and an international humiliation come to mind.

Ok I guess I misunderstood the description as well. I had thought all of the souvenir sheets were fabric stamps. This means that there will only be 3000 fabric stamps in existence and since they're already sold out then that's a variety I'm never going to own :( *sigh* I hope this gets listed as a variety instead of getting its own Scott number.
