The rule-of-thumb is to add the CVs, then multiply by 10% to get the price they would sell for in the real world.

Many India MNH stamps up to the late 1950s sell for full catalog value or more (the 1948 Gandhi stamps always sell for multiples of catalog value), so a realistic value could probably only be obtained by checking the sales history of each stamp (or year sets from the 2000s onward) on online auction sites such as e bay.

Thanks GeoofHa and Jenny2U, appreciate very much.
Is Cv mean Current value in market for last 2-3 years?
or from the recent New Catalogs e.g. SG, PhilaIndia, ebay etc.

again appreciate your input.

Sorry - by CV I meant catalogue value, as expressed by Gibbons, Scott etc. Most post-war stamps carry auction estimates (real, not ebay, auctions, that is) that are around 10% of CV. As Jenny says, there will be exceptions for particular stamps or collecting areas. Plodding through a catalogue in your local library would give you a good starting point to work down from.

Good luck!

Geoff

India year sets of 1991 & 1992 are the "hot" in demand sets.

Thank you GeoffHa and redwoodrandy again.
some off year wise scans in past I posted. But now let separate out
years single, Blocks and sheets Extras which I can dispose off.
Scan of 65 years of material to post is I think unreasonable.
appreciate your help.

Thanks all
