JESS----I agree with you ,that it appears real . I would send it to the APEX and have them issue a certificate .

Hi floortrader, Do you have a link to APEX certification? I scoured their site and couldn't find a thing about it...

So I did a little experiment. I searched ebay's current and completed items for "Honduras 1898". The search returned six results that were not listed as forgeries or reproductions, eight if you count three from one seller. I could probably find more by changing the search terms, but eight is a good sampling for now. Mine is on the right. What do you guys think?

Well done, Trader. That is quite the display you have there. Now you have to go on ebay and buy some "Reproductions" to finish it off...

One thing I noticed about the forgeries is, they're not all that difficult to spot once you know what you're looking for. Of course, knowing is key. Otherwise it's a different ball game.

I'm curious about your type V category. Specifically the 6c, as it looks, at least from the picture, to be more similar to mine than the others I found... Are they "poor quality" originals, in the sense that they pass the forgery tests, or do they fail one of the forgery tests as well?
