The condition is almost fine for an officially sealed cover. It was roughly opened, but is still a nice cover.

I see the Third Reich (Eagle & Swastika handstamp) felt it necessary to search it for intelligence so that's neat.

Everything got censored by them once the war started. This cover was sent 6 days before the Germans invaded Greece, so by the time it got there Greece was captured. The NY backstamp is November 29 so it took a while for the Germans to get around to censoring and returning it, and it traveled still further after that.

It ended up in Halifax Nova Scotia where the ship ran the Atlantic in convoys.
