Can anyone help me with the best way to display booklets? I have recently acquired a large number of booklets (Greenland and Iceland), many of which have double panes inside, each with a different design. It seems to me that the best solution is to buy two sets of each booklet, "explode" one to display the stamps and keep one booklet intact and display the cover art work. This is fine for easily available booklets, but for rarer items this proves a problem. Either the booklets cost a lot of money, or they are not available in multiples. I don't particularly want to explode booklets because this reduces their value (a separate discussion topic on its own).

Which mounting system do people use? I use Hagner mounts for my stamps, but booklets are not suited for this system. I think there are clear, A4 binder sheets used for covers. I don't collect covers as a rule so I am little in the dark on this. There is a thread from 2009 but it doesn't seem to help too much. As some of you know, there doesn't seem to be a stamp dealer in the country I live and work in so I can't drop in and ask: my questions might seem pretty basic to some, but please bear with me :-)

Exploding them is the best way to display them but as you noted it reduces value so unless you want these handled every time you display them I would suggest either high resolution scans or leaving them "raw". Maybe someone else has a better idea as I don't have any so no first hand knowledge.

Hi Tim,

For booklets stock sheet specially 3 and 4 row, sometime
5 rows may also work. If transparent you find may work fine but
disadvantage would be instead of 6,8 or 10 you will be able to
accommodate half of it.
I use stock sheets, usually by from Amos. sometime Sheets configuration chart will help a lot. I would not explode booklets.

Tim

Gibbons does a "Universal" booklet album - basically a 22-ring type, with a range of 7 types of booklet leaf to accommodate various booklet types. Doesn't solve the exploding question, of course.

Regards.

Geoff

Thanks iP. I missed that thread because I was looking for an exact match of words. It answers most of my questions perfectly, and tikithindi has answered the rest Danger UXB (unexploded booklet).

Seems to me that clear stock sheets are better than black, as they would allow one to view the outside of the booklet cover as well as the stamps.

Probably answer is in between. If someone is collecting Booklets
if only single booklet use single clear stock sheet and have
more than one booklet other Pages use black both side pockets.
so all booklets are in same binder and no need to search around other place.
