There aren't many stamp duties still in force in the UK now. The main one is on certain large share transactions and a document still needs to be stamped.
We still talk about "stamp duty" on property transactions but the former stamp duty has now mostly been replaced by a transfer tax, the "Stamp Duty Land Tax".
As scotzm says the 1891 act is still in force although much amended so I guess the UK government could introduce new stamp duties shouuld they ever want to without much effort in drafting new legislation.
