I'm planning on transferring a load of stamps into old Stanley Gibbons Swing-O-Ring albums, but I'm having real trouble finding any. Does anyone know where I might find one or two? I've got hold of some spare leaves, so I need binders, and/or more unused leaves.

My local dealer says he gets them occasionally, but they're usually quite battered as they are so old! I'm watching out on ebay, but there's nothing doing at present.

I'm UK-based by the way, so for practical reasons I'd need to get them from the UK.

Hi Ringo,

Reading Philatelic Society have auctions and Swing o Ring albums seem to come up quite often.
I have obtained some myself from them in the past but these days postage to Australia makes it prohibitive.

Drop an e-mail to
r.j.sammons@reading.ac.uk and he will no doubt send you details of their next auction.

Best of luck
Ron

Ringo

Dauwalders does various 22-ring stuff:

May be worth contacting them to see if they still have the SG albums (which SG seem to be abandoning, as they're abandoning most useful things). Dauwalders do their own 22-ring album, and cheaper, but good quality leaves, but I think the albums and pages are sized differently to SG's.

I can't seem to open the site at present, but Vera Trinder (now mail-order only and owned by Prinz) does Prangnell Rapkin albums, which include, I think, the original Swing-O-Ring.

Regards.

Geoff

Thanks for the suggestions. I can't open the Vera Trinder site either - must be down for some reason.

Penguins - do you recall roughly what the Swing o Rings cost you? It sounds like a promising place for me to look.

Ringo,
Very cheap, a couple of Quid, mind you that was a few years back.
Roger is very helpful.
Cheers
Ron
