Chances are good the accumulation is worth less than $300.00 and very probably $100 or less. The only way to know whether it's anything more than a normal accumulation of low-value stuff is for you to locate the most likely material and either describe it or post scans.
To begin, you might look through the albums to see whether the collection has any stamps before 1900. If it does, how many from which countries.
Depending on your answer to that question, posting scans of some of the oldest pages in the oldest albums might be a next step.

julesnjunk, one suggestion is to contact the American Philatelic Society, or APS for short and ask them if there is a stamp club close to you. Chances are there is since you are in the land of the snowbirds. Lots of them collect stamps and have time to help you!

Jules, a belated welcome. "There's lots of old stuff" doesn't really help much. Some people consider stamps from the 1920s to be old stuff. That's why a reasonable first step would be to count how many pre-1900 stamps from the United States, from Great Britain, France, and Switzerland are found in all the albums. Some albums may have stamps from one or two of these countries, others may only have one or none of these countries.
This counting project is not that overwhelming and it would begin to give us a handle on what you might have. Count how many for each country and keep track of how many different albums each country appears in
for instance: Great Britain: in 3 albums, 10 pre-1900 total France in 1 album, 15 pre-1900 United States in 1 album, 30 pre-1900 and so forth
it's only a crude measure but it would take us a lot farther than we are right now. |

Well if you are going to research it you could just start to organize it and become a collector |
