Hi I am really new to stamp collecting but if possible I would really like some more information on this stamp, there seems to be some confusion in the family, any information would be greatly appreciated!

I can share with you the listing from Stanley Gibbons British Commonwealth catalogue, if you are looking for more than Scott says:
Kenya, Uganda and Tanganyika SG110, 1935, South African crowned cranes, 1c, black and red-brown, watermark Mult Script CA, perf 13, designed by R.C. Luck, engraved by De La Rue. |

Thankyou so much for your reply are you able to tell me how this differs to the 1925 one that sold for over £100,000 at auction? Im sorry for all the questions its just I have literally just got this collection and dont know where to start, I've just had people telling me that stamp is worth a lot! But im sceptical! |

One difference would be that yours was issued in 1935, not 1925. This is a common stamp that turns up in most albums from the period. |

Sorry, I'm not sure what you are referring to...this stamp is easily found for $0.25.
Kenya, Uganda and Tanganyika didn't exist as a postal authority until January 1933, so there were no KUT stamps prior to this set. Some of the high dollar Kenya and Uganda King George V stamps from 1925 sell for big money, but they share the same design and it looks nothing like this one.
If you have a picture or a link, we can help sort this out. |

This would be the design of the high-dollar 1925 Kenya and Uganda stamps. This image is from the Queen's collection. One of these would sell for a boatload of money. |

Now this IS a £100,000 stamp. Heaven knows what the old girl's block of four would fetch.

I'm glad to see that idiots are replacing old-fashioned journalists all the world over...I was afraid it was just here in the U.S.
That stamp is a "sample" image picked from Wikipedia without any regard to the stamp in the story.
The story mentions a 100-pound 1925 stamp, which is the stamp I posted above, as a block of four. Obviously, 100 pounds is almost impossible to use for postage, but the stamps were also valid for revenue purposes, and in the case of the 100-pound stamp, I've read that it was usually used for big-game hunting licenses and payment of liquor duty. |
