Good evening. Found these guys mounted in an advanced WW collection but based on my research the color is wrong for the 1/2 and the 1 centavo. If they are fakes they are pretty good ones. Can someone confirm my suspicions? Thanks in advance!!

I agree that they all look troublesome. The 1/2c should be gray, the 1c ink and paper don't look right, and the 1/4c color is a green, but not the right green.

The quick test is the pearls, or marbles, around the frames. Yours all have too many. Yours have horse and other detail issues, too.

The best site I know for this issue is here:
http://www.mystamps.net/venezuela/i...cudos02.html

He has nice pictures of genuine stamps, and then identifies 12 forgeries.

Appreciate it. Tried to go to site but locked out right now. I will see if my issues are listed as known forgeries. Do certain fakes hold any value?

Some forgeries have more value than real stamps, it depends who forged them

If you are dying to look, you can always use the wayback machine. I just tried it and it took me to the site.

Hi Shannon

Try looking on ASOFILCA http://www.asofilca.com/ The site is in Spanish but Google does a decent job of translating.

I have some of Will Castillo's pages in StampRefs. You can download the Venezuela tables at: https://app.box.com/s/vsdmps7v72xklcifjqx1 br /

You may download all the Reference Tables, StampRefs, by downloading at: https://app.box.com/s/7rmrwtqd1og6v59l69ea

If you do download the tables they are not to be published on any Web site since there are no permissions to use the catalog numbers. They are strictly for your personal use.
