Tommy...WOW..I am impressed.. Hey is your Scott #72 a re-entry...?? I have the proof with a re-entry and the stamp with a re-entry also. Darn it Tommy, make or have some one make a web page for you to have a place to go for information for us Canadians and others. |

What's so nice about Newfoundland stamps is that there's an end in sight! |

Thank you all, I am happy to share and not deserving of this.
Wert : good one--I will check that stamp. I have not focused at all on re-entries as, well, I've been obsessed with singularity on completing a Mint NH collection. I have a near completed Used sister to the above as well. Maybe when I grow up, I will create a near complete Newfie collection of all re-entries, eh? that would be fun, eh?
Stay tuned for a web site, I am contemplating it.
Though my current focus is to complete the above, but all in covers...a complete (or near complete) examplar of every issue on a cover...
anybody have some to sell me? I'm in the hunt for about 50 still ... all prior to 1930 |

Yes my friend, get that web site in place and maybe me and others can help adding to the information part of it. I got over 200 Newfie stamps now tommy, but more to come... BTW tommy, here is the background sheet I am going to use to builds sheets for my Provinces..I like it. |

Tommy; it's a great collection; really like the pence issues. Good luck finding the covers. I will be watching for you for missing items (send me the list of the ones you especially want). I will be attending the Royal in London Ontario in May where there is likely to be a reasonable selection of Nfld covers. I am also looking for my own collection.
I was recently talking with John Walsh (author of the specialized Newfoundland catalogue) and he gave me some clues about postal usage of the higher values. Not very likely we will see many of them around on cover or on piece, so they should be grabbed if you ever see them. |

NBStamper:
Thank you very much, not deserving at all. Just a humble collector stupidly stuck on one country...
I will email you / have we corresponded before (sorry if I forgot)?
I have the show in May on my radar, but will not be able to make it. I would die to be there. (I will be in London in October for the Rugby World Cup and would love to meet any SCF Newfoundland collectors).
Interesting comment about Walsh -- I have noticed this myself over the last 5-10 years...the scarcity of supply of all higher values seems to be quite askew versus the demand. I recently nailed a higher value, single use, 8cent cover from WWI era, and had to pay 3 times what the NSSC listed it for. |
