Hello,
I will go to London in mid-April 2015 and would love to spend 1-2 hours in some fair/flea market where one could look for stamp occasions (will only have three free mornings: Fri-Sat-Sun).
Heard that on Saturdays one could go to the Charing Cross Stamp Fair, is this still true? Are there any other places worth visiting?
Thanks ahead for any comment! Andy.

There's a "tail gate stamp and coin fair" in a parking garage on the Embankment some days. Go there is you are really into dark and dingy. |

The Charing Cross Collectors Market under Charing Cross Station is legend. Great fun.
What's the middle of April ? Weekend 10/11/12 or 17/18/19 ??
If it's the former you'll hit the 'biggie'.
List will follow when I know the dates. |

I will be in London from Sunday, Sept 6 through Saturday, Sept 12. Is this stamp fair or any other stamp fairs in London? Is so, could you give me specific directions? I will be staying near Victoria Station. Thanks in advance. |

Chickasaw, the Charing Cross Collectors Market is every weekend! When you return please let us know how it turned out for you, including Rome ( and any other places you might visit )!

Chickasaw
You could walk, but the simplest ways are underground (District Or Circle Line from Victoria to Embankment station, which is next to Charing Cross Station), or an 11 bus from Victoria Street to the Strand.
And any day but Sunday (I think), have a full English breakfast at the Regency Cafe in Page Street (Victoria/Westminster area - probably five minutes from your hotel). And fish and chips in the Seafresh in Wilton Road.

The entrance to the Charing Cross collectors market is right opposite the exit from Embankment Underground station. So best go by that route. Starts at 7am. There will be a standing board advertising the market outside so you can't miss it. Enjoy ! I will be there the following Saturday before Stampex opens. No other London fairs on your dates except one out in Upminster at the end of the District line. Bit of a trek but a nice long-established fair. |

I went to the charring cross fair on sept 12. I bought a bunch of Great Britain, and even some Mexico overprints. Boy it was hot in the parking garage. There were 6 stamp dealers, 5 coin dealers and 3 with miscellaneous . I stayed 3 hours. Even got a few addresses to do business with then when I get home! It was great!

Good information above-thanks.
I'm in London for the Rugby World Cup and will drop by this gathering this Saturday looking for Newfoundland items, especially high value items and covers....anyone who reads this and is in London ? |
