Unless they are some sort of local post stamps for the Cherokee Nation, then they are probably cinderallas - fantasy labels.

No online index that I know of, but if you can either recite the wording or scan one stamp with higher resolution, there appears to be some microprinted text at the bottom of each stamp below the frame. It probably refers to the printer and/or designer that created the stamps. If we have that clue, it may help narrow down the possibilities.

I was very surprised to see denominations on them - evidently cinderellas - and maybe trading stamps for an aboriginal business?

Nothing on Google for 'Cherokee Nation stamps' (except for this thread). I've done a bit of photoshopping to the image

I could be wrong but the lettering looks like the Cherokee alphabet that Sequoyah created. That looks like a portrait of Sequoyah on the far right in purple so that would make sense.

A Google translation from the above website:

One day in 1967 on the Rio Grande River, which separates Texas from Mexico, a powerful hurricane took away a strip of land that connected an island of 183 acres to the US. At a certain Mr. Williams came to mind a strange idea. He had blood Cherokee by descent, took possession of the island, and proclaimed that it was Mexican territory and not the US (the island was in the middle of the Rio Grande and more united to the US). Then being aware of an old and obscure Mexican law that entitled him to "Indians" to get into full possession of the territories "border" that they had occupied, proclaimed himself "governor" or "something" of the island. Mr. Williams invested a lot of money to claim the official recognition of his STATE. In 1983 he printed the stamps (two are shown) and also money. Mexico threatened that if he had not sold him the sovereignty of the island, would sell 1 "square foot" of land on the island to 300,000 Cherokee Indians, Mexicans who become so in effect, they would have voted for him in local elections and policies with all the consequences of the case ...

It is not known how it is then finished the contest .... Certainly the Texan costs a lot of money in lawsuits ... but when one wants the official recognition of their sovereignty on land and not the only property to be ... ready to invest!

These are not "postage" stamps. They are cinderellas. Fantasies,labels/stickers made to look like stamps.
