I have experienced a lot of issues with the Bidstart over the past several months. Primarily, it will go through unpredictable periods of maddening slowness, sometimes taking so long to load a page that it simply times out.

The past 4-5 days, the site has been down for me more than it has been up. I contacted their support awhile back and they acted as if I am the only one experiencing issues. There is a least one other person, on Facebook, who is reporting problems. And there was a recent post searchable on Google where Bidstart itself discusses the issues. The post comes from the news section, however I cannot read it because the site is always down.

Have any of you had issues with Bidstart lately?

I've had similar issues with Bid Start. Really doesn't bother me too much, since I seldom find anything of interest there. It's just the same overpriced stuff going around and around. I just exit and go somewhere else.

I don't look at bidStart that frequently, but I haven't noticed these problems. Just tried it now, with no issues.

Bidstart is often painfully slow, but yesterday it churned up error messages after stalling for prolonged periods whenever I attempted to search it.

At least it's not just me. Was feeling a bit paranoid. Sigh.

Yesterday it just froze with a blank screen for me - no message - so it's not just you!

Works now for me.

Puzzler I actually clear everything about 3 times a week (including flash cache and java cache). This problem was a beast of a very different species. That said, I was on Bidstart this evening and it was humming along nicely.

Couldn't get on at all yesterday. I got part pages for about 5 minutes then it all went blank.

I gave up.

A selling venue that once had potential, but is now being ignored into the ground by Stanley Gibbons.

Sad.

I have been using bidStart for quite a while and have never had issues with speed or timing out. It's been a pretty reliable source of stamps for me.

I've had problems with it also but I usually just stop the loading (hit X in explorers address bar) then hit refresh (circle arrow) then it seems to pop up fine. Kind of annoying though. Bidstart is my "go-to" place for material under$5 or so. Most things are 25% or so of catalog. There seems to be just about anything for all countries in that range. I haven't found any other sites with this much "lower catalog" material ... anyone know of other sites like this?
